I have a Nikon D80, does anyone know what Aperture/Shutter Speed I should use for shooting Vegas at night?
I know you have to play around with it, but I am just looking for a starting point. I have a tripod, but I am new at photography and really want these night light shots to turn out CRYSTAL clear. I have shot downtown L.A. and used the manual mode, or Aperture priority, but the pictures still seemed like they could have been more clear!!!
Remember reciprocity. This means, when one variable goes up, the other must compensate by going down. When you are using a tripod, use the lowest ISO speed to ensure clean images with good color accuracy. As for the shutter speed and aperture values, open up the aperture and decrease the shutter speed. As for the complete instructions, I cannot tell you since I would have to be there. This means you'll have to judge by the in camera light meter. Use a matrix mode for better results. If your images are still dark, compensate by increasing the shutter speed by a few more stops. Of course, your tripod will be needed. Hope this helps.
