i think i may of plateaued in my biceps.?
im 16 years old and i have been doing the same stuff for my biceps for like a year.just recently i realized i want bigger biceps(befor i just concentrated on geting a higher bench max sqaut max and run faster for football, but now i want to look good to)so for about a year ive been yousing 20 pound dumblels and an EZ bar with differentiating wight. no i also have a pullup bar that i just got. should i contenu with the dumbells and EZ bar or do something els? what are some good things to do for my biceps?
Change your workout routine! Your muscles get used to the same workout, causing you to stay at the same level or even to plateau. There are many different types of bicep workouts you can do. Ask a person who has the type of body you are working towards. If you want to build muscle, EAT LOTS OF PROTEIN and increase your weight. Do higher weight with low reps, such as 3 sets of 10. Also, remember that when you're working out, your muscles tear in order to make room for growth. They also need time to heal in order for them to tear further and keep growing. Give yourself a day or two each week to rest from weights and maybe just do cardio on those days. I like to do biceps and legs one day, back and shoulders the next day, and chest and triceps the next. That way I'm not working out all my muscles every day and they have time to heal. Remember to drink lots of water in order to break up the lactic acid that builds in your muscles and makes them sore and also to avoid dehydration. Good luck!
