Video Camera Remote/Tripod?
I've got the Sony Handycam dcr-sr 68 (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666073191&XID=O:sr%2068:dg_cc_gglsrch)
And I would like to get a remote for it kinda like the Sony VCT-60AV

But as far as I can tell that remote is mountain to the tripod.. doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of trying not to bump the thing when pushing buttons? I would really like a remote that is detached from the tripod if not completely wireless!. is there anything like that? or maybe this one can detach and I just don't know it?? help??
Television cameras work with having the remote for zoom and focus on the tripod control handle. with a good quality rigid tripod, working these controls does not bump the camera. Usually a TV camera man has a hand on the control handle at all times except when the tripod head is locked down, so that eliminates the possibility of bumps as well.
However that being said, the remote control system used with Sony camcorders is LANC. There is no LANC port on this particular camera model, so remote control is not possible. While Sony style shows the remote control tripod as a suggested accessory, i don't understand how the remote function would work.
