How does the GorillaPod SLR work?
Hey everyone,
I've been looking around reviews and descriptions of the 'GorillaPod / GorillaPod SLR', as I am thinking of purchasing one for my Sony camcorder.
However, I don't quite understand how it actually ATTACHES to my camera. I understand there is a screw type thing, but how do I know my camcorder has one of these/is this how it is attached? (I don't have my camcorder yet so I can't check)

it will connect through a standard wide-based screw fitting that is on the bottom 99.9% of all cameras/camcorders - it'll connect your device to any tripod on the market.
You'll get a plate with the pod that just screws and locks into your camcorder.
To be fair, i work in an electrics shop, and i don't think i've ever seen a camcorder without a tripod screw, my guess is that any camcorder you chose will have it. 
Once you've chosen a particular model, however, you should be able to look up the manufacturers website and it should say somewhere if it is compatible with a tripod.
