Vintage camera film, where do you get it, and where could it be developed?
I have a vintage camera collection. About 12 or so ranging from some as old as 1890 to some 1950's kodak brownie cameras. I've never tried to use them, but have been considering trying. I don't know where to get the film? If I do find the film, who would develope it for me?
I used to develope standard 35 mm film all the time, my sister still has a dark room. But these vintage cameras take such wide film that I know it won't fit in the standard processing canister, and I don't know what type of chemicals to use either?
There are Brownies and there are brownies.
As far I know, brownies used 120 film, 127 film, possibly 620 too. and other discontinued formats.
620 is the same film as 120 but on a different spool. You need to respool de 120 film on a 620 spool.
There are only two films availiable in the 127 format. Efke and Rollei retro 80S.
120 film is the second most popular film format. Getting film from a good shop (B&H, adorama, calumet, etc) is as easy as obtaining 35mm.
Any decent lab (pro lab) may take 120 film. B&W is better to DIY. C41 is color negative and E6 is color slide film. I've heard that walmarts have a send out film service for 120 film, ask them.
If your developing tanks are plastic and you use plastic reels, it's usually possible to adjust between 35mm, 127 and 120 film sizes.
