Is there any method to check the real time of lamp usage in projector?
This is very important information to see the remaining time of lamp life. We can see the time of use using the menu in projector but sometimes this is not a real one since we can reset it.
Well you need to get the model and manuf, to be able to tell you how to do it. But there will be a hard counter for total hours that the machine has run for that cannot be reset.
Also due to the high cost of bulbs I would suggest waiting till the bulb completely dies. My bro-in-law has had a projector bulb run for 6000 hours (and is still running), with the expected life of 3000 hours.
Although they warn you that the bulbs could explode and may damage the projector if they are run too long. When you consider a bulb is $400 and a new projector is $600 this (that is what I bought my mitsu 720p for) this is a worthy gamble. It is very unlikely that a bulb going out will kill your projector.
