What do I need to transfer cassette tape to digital media?
I want to transfer old tcassete tapes or to cd/s. what type of equipment do I need or perhaps somewebsites that cover this topic, thanks for the help
I want to transfer cassette tapes to cd,s and put the recordings in a digital format. How do I do it, and what type of equipment/software do i need to get or try. thank you!
Depends what you already have..
If we're talking PC with a stereo soundcard (most have something suitable) then you will need very little additional kit, basically just a cable...
If we're talking laptop, then unless it happens to have a stereo input (most don't) you will need an audio interface, and something inexpensive like the Griffin iMic will probably be ideal.
You will need to connect your cassette player (either via the RCA plugs or the headphone output) to your soundcard. This will be a stereo 1/8" plug to go into either the iMic or your soundcard on one end, then the RCA jacks or headphone jack on the other.
You will then just need some software, AUDACITY is free, I tend to use MAGIX AUDIO CLEANING as it is both inexpensive and very comprehensive/easy to use.
