how do i turn the light on on my web cam? how do i even know if there is a light?
There isn't a light. Built-in webcams, meaning those webcams that are in the top of a laptop screen, do not have lights. They are made to work with the ambient light in a room. You are supposed to provide adequate lighting yourself.
However, if you need confirmation, or if you believe that for some reason your laptop DOES have a light, then you would need to read the manual for your laptop. Since only YOU know the make and model of your laptop (you did not share that info) only you can download it from the manufacturer's website.
