Can I send subliminal messages through a web site design?

Heh...I made a template design that can be used on a site by altering the images of a bunch of hot women till you can't tell the images I used were originally pics of women. Do you think I would be sending out subliminal messages by using it? That was the motive, to have some geek on a computer thinking, "Oh, I don't know what it is about this site, but it's turning me on."

I think your question should be put in the Psychology column.

Short answer: there is no such thing as subliminal messaging. Advertising and such are meant to create conscious reactions to buy their product, so trying to induce conscious reactions with unconscious stimulus is contradictory in itself. Even so, if subliminal messaging is truly subliminal, we would have no idea of it even existing nor its effects, which is a waste of time.

There are a lot of studies showing that "subliminal messaging" does not work. If you're trying to get somebody horny, just post pictures of naked women.
