How to light my backdrops?
I have two 300W strobe heads, a black backdrop and a white backdrop. I think I pretty much understand how I should set everything up with the black one. I used the white one for the first time today, however, and although the photos looked quite nice on the camera screen, after uploading them the background is grey in places. I know most studio photographers use more than one light but for now that isn't an option for me.
How should I set up both the lights and my DSLR to give nice clean, blurred backgrounds in my photos?
(I know I said I pretty much understand how to do it for the black one but that's just through trial and error, it'd be nice to know how you all do it!)

To properly light your subject and white background you would need 4 or 5 lights.
2 x background
1 x hairlight
2 x subject (or 1 depending on how you want it lit)
You have virtually no chance of getting a pure white background and a properly lit subject with 2 lights.
With 2 lights you will have to do the background in post processing with Photoshop or the like.
