Alien Bees B400 or B800?
Well, I'd like to purchase one of these two strobe lights for portrait work (mostly modeling portfolio work), but I'm not sure which would be better. I was originally going to use my umbrella lights, but decided to switch to strobes for my on location photo shoots, so I'd be basically starting from scratch as far as lights go.
Would I be able to use one of these with my external flash: Nikon SB 600?
Can a soft box be put over it without burning up?
What attatchments are good to use with these?
Which one should I get if I can only get one plus a small generator (max 3,000watts)?

Can a soft box be put over it without burning up? Yes, the modeling bulb is just a household bulb, plus you can turn the modeling bulb off.
What attachments are good to use with these? Snoots, barn doors, umbrellas, beauty dish, etc..you name it.
Which one should I get if I can only get one plus a small generator (max 3,000watts)? Always go for the higher , you can always dial it down, back it off for more light spread or modify it.
