can 500 fps 0.22 cal kill a rabbit ?

I'm looking into buying an air soft gun. In Canada i do not need a license as long as its below 500 fps. Im looking into getting a 495 fps crosman 0.22 cal. My question is what type of game can this kill and can it kill rabbits. Also i heard if i shoOt a squirrel with this it will go through it and exit, is that true ?

Yes, more than enough power. At the right range, and a head shot, between the ear and eye. Or between the eyes for a straight on shot, or a shot between the ears from behind. I wouldn't take a shot beyond 30 yards with a gun only producing 500 FPS thou.
I know you're limited to power in Canada, but remember, no shots beyond 30 yards for a good humane one shot kill. Have a look at this.

These air gun hunters do it all the time, one shot, and good shot placement.
The guy above me should learn a thing or two about air gun power. And you don't want pass through, you want the most damage that can be done in one shot to stop the animal. Pass through shots won't do that and cause the animal a slow painful death. REMEMBER, head shots for instant kill.
