I can tell you (after a quick comparison of spec's) that this external flash is less powerful than the one built into the camera its self, the only advantage of this flash to... well... yea... The problems with this flash are its very inefficient (small number of uses per charge) and its long refresh time (up to 10 seconds, that’s a long time to wait for a flash)
If you want to replace or increase your cameras flash power you need to spend a bit more I am afraid. I would recommend one of canons speedlites as they can sync with the cameras shutter even when it is a short exposure. For such a small camera it would be worth going for a smaller flash (such as the 220EX which is going cheap due to a replacement in the pipe line). It may seem expensive but it would be cheaper to buy it now than to buy a poor quality flash and toss it only to buy this one later.
