Red Eared Slider with small brown spot on skin?
My red eared slider, about a year and a half to 2 years old, has a brown spot on its skin between its front leg and head. I haven't noticed this before now and i'm not sure what it is. His heat lamp had burnt out a few weeks back and I had just gotten a new bulb a couple days ago. He is also shedding (skin not shell) which I had read could be due to excess heat. I'm assuming that the shedding is due to not having a heat lamp for so long and then finally getting it back again, but any ideas on what this brown spot may be? I have not really had time to handle him much so he's pretty scared of being handled.
yeah im pretty sure that its not septicemia. It is just a small brown spot on the skin, it is not red and he is perfectly fine otherwise, his shell is not red either.
Your RES has septicemia, there is no way to self treat it, go to the vet.

Might not be the answer you want to hear but go to the vets anyway if your really worried. In my opinion this could be skin irritation,maybe a fungal infection, perhaps you should wait a couple of days before going to the vets, by the way, when did you notice these brown spots.
