Silver Jewellery - Pure White Background?
I need some help photographing highly polished silver jewellery against a pure white background (#ffffff) for use on a website.
I have recently purchased some kit for this:
Small white light tent.
An Olympus e520 DSLR camera
35mm Zuiko macro lens.
2 300w photography lamps with 5000k daylight bulbs.
I would like to get as close to this sort of thing as possible (setting the bar high I know!!) :

So far I'm struggling. I think I have the right sort of kit. But I'm not sure on camera settings and general setup for this kind of job.

Sorry I forgot to add that I'm not after the reflection effect, I just liked this image as it shows the cufflinks form and shape off perfectly as well as conveying a true silver colour and texture (something so far I have failed at)
Easy with the kit you've got.
Use the same basic setup as this (light from each side): http://www.flickr.com/photos/pchthetwit/4560372491/ but on white ceramic, and white seamless background.
When exposing remember to meter off the white, then expose that as +1.7 EV, this way it will show as white while not burning pixels. You will want to shoot in manual mode really so that exposures are consistent, and also set your white balance to daylight (or if you can set a exact number, 5000K to match your lights).
If you can't get the glass base you can always drop the reflection in photoshop (and in fact I learnt to do this initially with illustrator), and a tutorial can be found here: http://www.photoshop911.com/tutorials/reflections.html
