How do you remove red eye and light circles from eyes in a digital photo?
I took a picture at a large family gathering with a pocket size digital camera. Everyone in the picture has red eyes, some have a bright spot in the center of their eyes, and some people that were wearing glasses have a reflection so you can't see their eyes at all.
I want to print this and give it to my grandfather (who is in his 90's), but I'd really like to fix these problems. I downloaded the newest version of gimp and tried the red eye reduction, but it only works with a few people.
I've read some tutorials, but the problem is we're all standing pretty far away and when you zoom in on the eyes you see a lot of pixels. I also don't understand what layers are and how to work with them, so those lessons are lost on me.
I'm thinking of getting photoshop, but that's supposed to be even more complicated. Does anyone have any tips?

Select the area that you want to change the color of and change it in hue and saturation. It's really, really simple.
Photoshop's not really more complex. You probably aren't quite aware of what GIMP is capable of. I'd suggest you spend some time here: http://docs.gimp.org/en/ and here: http://registry.gimp.org/
