Camcorder Batteries - Great Power Back-up and Wonderful Performance
If you are looking for highly efficient batteries with long lasting power and utmost satisfaction, then you can purchase digital camcorders. Nowadays, with the advancement of technology, camcorder makers have introduced batteries with longer life. Thus they have reduced your hassle of charging your battery every time.
Due to competition among camcorder manufacturers, consumers are getting batteries with better power performance. Due to miniaturization, small batteries require more charge for a longer time. In this world, with the enhancement of technology and the application of lithium ion chemistries, consumers can expect better camcorder batteries at low rates.
Most of the batteries that run by lithium that not only last longer but also provide you better results. Renowned camcorder battery makers offer the warranty of three years. But, unbranded manufacturers also offer batteries with great performance. Camcorder batteries from ordinary companies also do work very well. So that, amateurs as well as professional photographers are increasingly depending upon less branded batteries after original batteries die out. Features such as lower cost and capability to offer same output have made the less well-known brands popular.
There are 4 types of camcorder batteries one can get:
Lead-Acid: This is a reliable and cheap, but suffers from a number of drawbacks as it gets discharged several times.
Lead-acids should be full charged if not they stop functioning if they remain uncharged for long. It is advised to keep them in a cool, dark place and due recycling them as their chemicals is extremely dangerous to the nature.
Nickel Cadmium (NiCd): A decade ago, the nickel cadmium was one of the most common types of camcorder batteries. These batteries have the power to control higher loads and have long life with regular discharge pattern.
The battery delivers the same level of voltage throughout the entire discharge cycle and even let you inform when the power is low. These batteries should be kept in cool, dry and safe place, however the contents are not hazardous but they are poisonous to the atmosphere.
Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH): NiMHs provide 10 to 25% greater charge capacity compared to the NiCds, but are also prone to memory effect like NiCds. These batteries should be discharged before recharge.
Lithium Ion: The Lithium Ion is available with a number of benefits that include quick charge time, has longer life, steady discharge, light weight and small in size. It offers more charge facility than NiCds, and does not suffer from memory effect.
